Lakshmi NYC has donated a Goddess Gift Basket for a silent auction at the Hamptons Preview party, at Prime (28th street btw 10th & 11th ave., NYC) Thursday, May 8th, 7:30-11:00pm. Portions of the events proceeds will go to the non profit organization, Soles4Souls.

For the summer of 2008, we have partnered up with the Y Catalog in effort to help CARE.  The Ambassador of their next issue, Christy Turlington Burns, had recommended us to the Y Catalog and wanted to feature our Lakshmi products. In honor of that, we have committed to donate $4600 worth of products to the Y Catalog, who is raising money for the charity of Christy's choice, CARE.

The Y catalog's mission is to stimulate awareness of the important of doing your part for our environment and for those in need, both inside and outside the yoga community while meeting your shopping needs at the very highest level.



CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. We place special focus on working alongside poor women because, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty. Women are at the heart of CARE's community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. CARE also delivers emergency aid to survivors of war and natural disasters, and helps people rebuild their lives.

Last year, CARE programs improved the lives of more than 55 million people in 66 countries. CARE not only feeds the hungry, they also help tackle underlying causes of poverty so that people can become self-sufficient. Recognizing that women and children suffer disproportionately from poverty, CARE places special emphasis on working with women to create permanent social change.


Our $4600 donation to the Y Catalog is well above our budget, but we know that it will make an impact on CARE's organization.
